About Us

The Packaging Source is a Centurion (about 10 minutes from JHB) based Gift Packaging Manufacturing company.  We specialize in personalized gift packaging like custom made cardboard gift boxes, paper gift bags and other gift packaging products like branded ribbon, organza bags, gift-wrap and tissue paper.  We custom make each packaging order to customer requirements, and have the capability to manufacture plain, printed and personalized products with a variety of finishes. Some of our very popular products include:

• Gift Tissue paper

• Plain and personalized gift-wrap

• Cardboard gift boxes, including wine, jewellery, hat and regular gift boxes

• Organza bags (customized sizes, printing etc.)

• Metal gift tins (printed and plain)

We use different printing techniques including flexographic printing, screen and litho printing to get just the right finish for our clients.

At The Packaging Source we know that creating a winning company requires a commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to meet deadlines and with our combined knowledge of over 25 years in the gift packaging industry and our strategic partnerships with other manufacturing companies, we bring you the best that South Africa has to offer.   

Our main clientele consist of Marketing-, events- and corporate clients.  We undertake large and small packaging projects on behalf of our customers, to help them complete their corporate projects in time and with great success.  A recent project that deserves mention must be our Awareness ribbon project - we created 150 000 awareness ribbons in just under 3 weeks in October of 2008.  We also did large gift box projects of 1000+ boxes per order for our corporate clients that included dressing their boxes and bags in ribbon and gift tags.  We are the sole gift box supplier for large photo and publishing firms.  All our customer reference contact details are available on request.

With its inception in February 2007, The Packaging Source started out with it's sole owner and employee, Sonja Marnewick, a one woman operation. 

With hard work and dedication, we soon grew larger and now, just a short while later we are a full fledged (all female)  manufacturing and imports company, providing employment to 5 full time sales and administration staff members and 15 full time factory staff members. 

During our busy season we also provide employment to up to 40 additional part time workers. 

Since the manufacturing of our products require skill and training, we invest time and money in both our full time and part time employees, ensuring continuing contracts to the part time employees for the future. 

During 2008 we have extended our business with joint business ventures such as reseller agreements with independent resellers across South Africa including the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, JHB, Pretoria and other areas.   Our warehouse and factory (but not the showroom) is situated in the heart of Johannesburg, to ensure quick delivery to our customers. 

Our import endeavours are successful with supplying our our customers with custom manufactured products such as plain and personalized organza bags, ribbons and gift bags.

We did not lose sight of our humble beginnings and still strive to give each of our customers the personal attention they deserve.  Today we thrive on visiting and meeting with our new and existing clients to discuss their individual gift packaging requirements.
